Finn Linder loaned to the Whitecaps 1st team

Vancouver, July 26, 2024 - Calgarian central defender Finn Linder has been added to the Vancouver Whitecaps first team for Leagues Cup. 

At 20 years old, this will be the first first-team game experience for the 6'3” player, who has been training regularly with the Whitecaps since 2023. 

The New Zealand youth international has been a key player for the Vancouver Whitecaps 2 in MLS Next Pro since signing his professional contract in 2022. Linder played a total of 36 games, scoring twice and assisting once. 

For the preliminary phase of Leagues Cup, two matches are on the menu for the MLS club. The Whitecaps will visit LAFC on July 30, then host Club Tijuana of Mexico on August 3 at BC Place. 

On Saturday, Linder will be available for a friendly game against popular Welsh club Wrexham AFC.
